About Lunch & Learn: Protecting Our Youth

A prevention-first conversation on human trafficking and online safety, built for parents, schools, faith communities, and workplaces. Before you read the flyer below, here's what most people ask us first.

A FEW QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU READ ON

• Is this about my community? Yes. Trafficking and online exploitation don't look like what most people picture. They show up in ordinary neighborhoods, schools, and families, often starting with a relationship built through a game, an app, or a DM. This session is built around what's actually happening in communities like yours, not a distant or extreme scenario.

• Will this scare my kids, or help me talk to them? This is built to help, not alarm. You'll leave with language and conversation starters you can actually use, not a list of fears to carry around. Our approach is trauma-informed and prevention-first: the goal is confidence, not panic.

• My child seems safe online. Do I still need this? This session is especially useful if things feel fine right now. Prevention works best before there's a problem to react to. Most of what we cover is about noticing small shifts early and building trust with your kids before you ever need to worry.

• What will I walk away knowing how to do? You'll leave able to recognize red flags, understand how grooming actually happens on the platforms kids use, and start conversations with your own kids without it feeling like an interrogation. You'll also get practical tools: a family safety plan framework and a handout you can keep.
